Suburban Legends Rump Shaker
Play Dead Magazine Review
'Summery horn-driven punk rock is what Suburban Legends do and what they do they do good. Think a safer, poppier Reel Big Fish and you'll pretty much be spot on, but then that's what you get from a band with a 6-month residency at Disneyland playing to young teenage kids every evening! Listening through, there's not too much room for manoeuvre, the band skirting round the usual expletives and fart jokes in favour of a much more slick and choreographed approach. Which, from that description, you'd think I'd HATE, but somehow whenever a rare break in the clouds appears and the sun pokes through for just a few minutes this always seems to find its way into my car stereo! If Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake is your thing then seriously, you'll be hard-pushed to find a more up-beat, charismatic release this year.'
